Madame sushita: The coolest sushi in Madrid

by Andrea Gámez

With a mix of eclectic interiorism and sushi with a twist, part of a family of restaurants in the city, Madame sushita is the place to go.

I arrived there with my parents and sister, my parents were here visiting. The front is really pretty and in winter the terrace looked idilic, which in summer can only be cuter. We had made a reservation for lunch, and they took a while to give us the table because the place was full, which made my expectations rise.

The pink color dominating it all along with patternsand textures that make it have a aomsewhat art-deco vibe, which at the end ends up being eclectic, like many interiors nowadays.

Going inside you stumble upon several visually interesting points which I just wanted to stare at, feathers, mirrors, pattern carpet, bookshelves, lamps, plants, etc. The place aesthetically proves that when it comes to interior design, the mix of textures and patterns is pleasing, carefully done of course, and the result is much more fun than something sober.

I see that almost every table has a dish with what seems like shrimps, and I make a menatl note to order that, even when I´m not a fan of shrimps. We order and finally eat.

The shrimps are everything I expected, I even dare to say the they are the stelar dish. The tartare tuna maki is just as splendid.
