Takos al pastor: the best tacos in Madrid

Yes, they are called Takos al pastor, with a K. And they are, probably, the best tacos al pastor we have found in Madrid. And that, comming from mexicans is a lot.

Tacos with a corona (or coronita) beer and tamarindo fresh flavored water

Tacos al pastor are a type of taco. Now, there are several types of tacos. In fact, there is a Netflix series called “Las crónicas del taco” that is really fun. If you feel curious about the types of tacos that exist in Mexico, you can watch it, I’m sure you will find it interesting.

The taco al pastor is a taco made with corn tortillas, chile marinated pork meat, that’s cooked in a along with a pineapple piece. When you assemble the taco you put a small piece of pineapple on top and then some fresh onion and coriander, and of course, sauces, of all kinds.

Now, the most famous taco in Takos al pastor is the pastor taco, but they also sell suadero tacos, which are so good, arrachera tacos (beef) and cochinita pibil tacos. Plus, they have mushrooms or nopales tacos, which are vegetarian options. And they have the favorite of many people, the gringa, which is a flour tortilla double taco with melted hceese (lots of cheese) and al pastor pork inside.

They even sell fresh flavored waters, jamaica, tamarindo and horchata! Oh, and they also have margaritas and beer. If you are mexican and crave tacos, then this is the best place to go. Or if you are from somewhere else and want to try some good tacos you have to go here. I am still impressed of how goo the tacos are in takos al pastor, because they are even better than some tacos they sell back in Mexico.

Now, they are usually really bussy, and you have to normally make a line of about half an hour, depending of how many people there are. Then you have to go in and eat quickly since they have lots of people waiting, but I’m telling you it’s so worth it.

What we ordered, a gringa, and tacos.

Takos al pastor is not a mexican restaurant exactly. They don’t sell other mexican dishes, they only sell tacos, the best tacos al pastor. If you want to know about some places to eat mexican food, we will soon give you some recommendations.
