2tbsp (1 fl oz) (30 ml)simple syrup, or 2 tbsp (30 ml) water + 2 (30 gr) white sugar
Ice, for cocktails (small size) enough quantity
Soda, enough quantity
Slices of lime (dor decorating), optional
Peppermint
Instructions
To make the simple syrup (if not available), place the water with the sugar in a small saucepan and bring to medium heat. Cook for about 1 minute until the sugar dissolves and a very thin syrup forms. Let it cool completely before using.
For the mojito, place some mint in the bottom of a cocktail glass or wherever you are going to mix the drink and crush it using a cocktail muddler or a spoon, so that the mint infuses well with the drink.
Add the rum, lemon juice and simple syrup to the shaker glass, cover it and then mix or shake vigorously, holding the glass with both hands and moving up and down.
Take two glasses, fill them halfway with ice and pour half of the rum mixture into each one. Add soda to taste and garnish with more mint leaves and lemon slices if desired.
