V de vaca: a trendy restaurant in Los Mochis

V de vaca is a relatively new restaurant in Los Mochis. It is a restaurant, as you can already tell from the name, that specializes in meats. But they don’t only have meat on the menu, and this is because there is no denying that Sinaloa has very good fish and seafood, and it would be a crime not to take advantage of it.

The place is undeniably one of the most beautiful places in the city right now. You can tell that the design is designed by and for the theme of the restaurant. It has touches of industrial style, contemporary, and even a bit of Provençal mixed in. That with the dark colors looks great, to give it a more serious touch.

Now, to the most important thing, the food. As a general feeling, the food is quite good, the service regular, and the prices reasonable.

As for the food, first of all, they gave us a small appetizer which was a piece of tortilla with beans, a little bit of guacamole and cream and cheese on top. This gesture is very nice and gives a very good image, although the taste was average.

Now, we ordered the V de vaca artichokes, a black aguachile and of course, some meat, the arrachera texana. The artichokes were great, not spectacular, but very good. We finished them (because we shared everything), and we wanted more, so that says a lot.

The black aguachile, although we found it very interesting, was not as good. There was something about the combination of flavors that didn’t quite come together. It was tasty because it was acid and fresh, but there was something that tasted a little bit bitter and it wasn’t very pleasant. Now, the fact that it was black was very amusing, and it gave the dish interest.

Now, the arrachera. I would have liked the meat to be a little less well done, but that is a matter of personal taste, and in general the flavor was very good, and that should be emphasized. The beans were very tasty and the potatoes were average. Maybe the potatoes could use a little more spice, or maybe they could be cut into wedges, or something different, so you don’t feel that they are just there to fill the dish.

As for dessert, we ordered a Basque cake, which is the typical Basque (Spanish) cheesecake, which is nothing more than the Spanish version of a cheesecake. This type of cake is made in such a way that the center is very jiggly, almost liquid, and it is very soft. The truth is that it was very good, and the presentation was also very good. I have tried many cheesecakes like this one and this one, I would not say it is the best, but it is up there. You can’t miss it.

Throughout the night we ordered glasses of wine, and halfway through the dinner and towards the end, we ordered carajillos. Now, I don’t know much about carajillos, but I really liked these! Plus, they had the restaurant’s logo on top of the foam, with coffee powder, which was super cute, and very well thought out.

In general, it is a worthwhile place, where you have to go knowing what to order, to enjoy it to the fullest. And without a doubt, one of the top restaurants right now in Los Mochis, and for several years to come if they know how to maintain the atmosphere and the cuisine.
