How to make baked peaches

On the outside, these peaches are crispy, with a light caramel layer, that is rich and full of flavor. And on the inside, they are soft and juicy. When you cut them open, the texture is just amazing, and taste so good! They are just peaches with some spices, sugar and butter, and the result couldn’t be better!

Baking them makes the flavor they already have stand out, and makes them taste amazing. And the ingredients we add make them taste more like peaches, in an interesting way.

Baked peaches recipe

For this recipe, we left the skin on the peaches, and the truth is that the texture it has is great. It turns crispy, and this, combined with the softness of the inside of the peach, is dreamy!

At the end, you can eat them with some ice cream, whipped cream or yogurt for example. Something that is light and cool to contrast the hot temperature of these peaches coming out of the oven, and maybe something crunchy would also be great! You can top them with some seeds, nuts, granola or muesli.

This is a summer recipe that you will love! It is made very quickly, it’s very natural, and it is also perfect for an important dinner at home, because it takes no time at all and it will make you look great with your guests. It is an original dessert that not many people tend to make!

As a note, we add a pinch of nutmeg powder to this recipe. I know that some people don’t like nutmeg, or prefer not to use it in some recipes. But here, we recommend you to use it, because it gives an impressive touch and enhances the peaches!

Ingredients

  • 3 peaches, big and ripe
  • 2 tbsp (1 oz) (30 gr) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp (1 oz) (30 gr) brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • A pinch of ground nutmeg
  • Vanilla ice cream, or whipping cream (optional)
  • Granola, muesli, seeds or nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 374º F (190° C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Separately, cut the peaches in half vertically, turning the knife from the top of the peach. Then, separate the halves and remove the pits.
  • In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg with a fork.
  • Place the cut peaches side up on the baking sheet and brush them with the butter mixture using a pastry or kitchen brush. Flip the peaches, now they should be skin up, and brush them with the same mixture until you use all of it.
  • Bake the peaches for 10 minutes. After this time, take them out of the oven, carefully flip them over once more and spread some of the butter mixture on the bottom of the baking sheet on top of them. Bake for another 15 minutes, until the peaches are soft and caramelized.
  • Remove the peaches from the oven and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream as well as granola or nuts.
