5.30oz (150 gr)nutella, or chocolate spread of your choice
1egg, beaten
1/2tbspbrown sugar
Confectioners sugar (powdered), for sprinkling
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 365º F (180º C). Line a large rectangular baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place one of the puff pastry rectangles on a clean surface. Put the nutella in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it up a little to make it easier use. Spread the nutella on top of the dough trying to cover well the edges. Place the second rectangle of puff pastry on top.
With a sharp knife, cut, lengthwise, strips about 0.60 inches (1.50 cm) wide. Using your hands, shape each tree. Grasp the end of a strip and start making small and then bigger waves with it until you run out of strip and get a shape similar to that of a Christmas tree. Then, use a wooden stick (or the one of your choice) to secure the shape of each tree.
Brush the trees with the beaten egg and sprinkle with a little brown sugar. Bake at 365º F (180º C) for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Take the trees out of the oven and let them cool down for at least 10 minutes. Then sprinkle with a little powdered sugar and enjoy!
