Method
- Preheat the oven to 365º F (180º C). Line a large rectangular baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Place one of the puff pastry rectangles on a clean surface. Put the nutella in a microwave-safe bowl and heat it up a little to make it easier use. Spread the nutella on top of the dough trying to cover well the edges. Place the second rectangle of puff pastry on top.
- With a sharp knife, cut, lengthwise, strips about 0.60 inches (1.50 cm) wide. Using your hands, shape each tree. Grasp the end of a strip and start making small and then bigger waves with it until you run out of strip and get a shape similar to that of a Christmas tree. Then, use a wooden stick (or the one of your choice) to secure the shape of each tree.
- Brush the trees with the beaten egg and sprinkle with a little brown sugar. Bake at 365º F (180º C) for 15 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Take the trees out of the oven and let them cool down for at least 10 minutes. Then sprinkle with a little powdered sugar and enjoy!
