- In a medium saucepan, combine the oats with the banana, water, and milk. Mix using a hand whisk or a silicone spatula, making sure all the ingredients are well incorporated before turning on the heat.
- Cook over medium heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent the mixture from sticking to the bottom of the pan. As it cooks, the oats will begin to soften and thicken slightly, developing a creamy texture. Adjust the consistency by adding a bit more water or milk if you prefer it thinner.
- Add the honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors and continue cooking for 3 more minutes, just until the texture becomes smooth and uniform.
- Remove from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes so the oats can thicken slightly and reach a creamier consistency. Serve warm and top with fruit of your choice.
