Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 392º F (200° C). Grease with butter and line a large rectangular baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl add the flour with the baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt. Mix with a spoon so that everything is very well integrated.
- Add the very cold butter and knead with a pastry blender or with your fingertips until a sandy dough is formed and the butter is in small but still visible pieces. It is important to work quickly so that the butter maintains its cold temperature. This step can also be done in a food processor.
- Add in the chocolate chips, sour cream and vanilla extract, integrating with a rubber spatula or your hands until the ingredients begin to come together. The dough will look a little crumbly but it is important not to overwork it.
- Place the dough on a clean, lightly floured surface. With your hands, form it into a circular shape, trying to make it about 4 cm thick. The dough will be a little sticky so it should be done quickly. With a sharp knife or a dough cutter, cut the circle into 8 triangles of the same size, like a pizza.
- Place the scones on the baking sheet, at least 5 cm apart from each other. Sprinkle them with a little sugar and bake at 392º F (200° C) for 20-22 minutes until lightly browned.
- Once ready, take them out of the oven and let them cool down for 10 minutes before enjoying. Ready!
